Cat'stationmaster' gets promoted.

A cat "stationmaster" of a railroad station herehas been appointed as a corporate executive of the Wakayama Electric Railway Co., the company announced on Jan.3.
The train operator has promoted 10-year-old female cat Tama, currently a stationmaster at Kishi Station on the Kishikawa Line, to the post of operating officer in recognition of her contributions to expanding the customer base.
This is the first time in the world for a cat to become an exective of a railroad corporation, (from Hot topics of Mainichi Weekly on 1/16.2010.

I practiced calligraphy for the first time in the New Year.
We celebrated New Year and drunk and ate the special New Year dishes.
Those contents are respectively charged with wishes: for example, sea bream(tai) is "auspicious" (medetai), herring roe (kazunoko) indicates "the prosperity for one's descendants", and sea tangle roll(kobumaki)
means "happiness"(yorokobu).

Sanada Yukimura





An unveiling ceremony of Sanada Yukimura 's bronz statue was held at Yasui Shrine in Tennouji, Osaka.
After many battles, Sanada Yukimura wanted to take a rest and died under a pine tree.
He is said that he was the strongest Samurai in Japan and he was acclaimed as the best Samurai of the Osaka summer war by both of Tokugawa troop and Toyotomi troop.
Shinto preast of Yasui shrine, Nakajima buit not the brave statue but the sitting statue which was taking a rest.
Sanada Yukimura might have been comfortable and restful.
Many members of OSK opera company and our red samurais in Osaka castle, Osaka jo kacchutai took part in the ceremony.
